Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll Pg. 19-32

When the rabbit runs by Alice, he leaves white gloves and a fan.  Alice starts talking to herself again, and while she was doing this, she was fanning herself.  The fan was making Alice smaller and smaller until she was swimming in her own tears.  She then meets a mouse also swimming in her tears, and tries to talk to the mouse but it doesn't seem to understand her.  But it turns out that the mouse does understand her, so Alice and the mouse swim ashore and meet other animals that speak English.  There is an eaglet, a dodo, a duck, and a Lory.  The mouse starts talking about English politics and the other animals seem to understand the mouse and they ask questions.  Alice doesn't understand how these animals can be talking English English to each other and how they know so much.
